Matthew Sweigart, CI, Certified Instructor of the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia, is the primary Instructor and director of the HeartMind Shiatsu 300 hour Training program. He teaches all levels of HeartMind Shiatsu Theory and Practice and is the Clinic Supervisor for the program. In 1988 he founded Ohashiatsu Chicago, where he taught and practiced under the supervision of the Ohashi Institute for 18 years. Since moving to Northern California in 2000 he has been guest Shiatsu faculty at various Massage and Bodywork Schools, where he began developing the HeartMind Shiatsu Curriculum. He maintains his connection to the school he founded in Chicago as Supervising Instructor and Visiting Faculty at Zen Shiatsu Chicago. Matthew is the author of Touching Ki and the HeartMind Shiatsu Meridian Chart. He is the proud father of two awesome boys, and a New Warrior.

David L. Goetz, CMT is a graduate of the Boulder College of Massage and co-director of HeartMind Bodywork and the Bodywork Bistro. He has trained and worked extensively with Matthew Sweigart in the Ohashiatsu, Zen Shiatsu and HeartMind method since 1990. He is the co-creator of the HeartMind Shiatsu Meridian Chart. With extensive training in Qigong and personal cultivation methods with such teachers as Prem Rawat, Master Chunyi Lin, Master Li Jun Feng and Roger Jahnke, David brings a balanced and integrated approach to the classroom. His background includes 25 years in the natural foods and health and wellness industry, and his further studies include Quantum Touch with Richard Gordon, and Matrix Energetics with Richard Bartlett. Angela M. Carini, B.S., AOBTA CP has over 10 years experience in the fields of dance, bodywork, and mind-body fitness. She is a graduate of Chicago’s oldest established Shiatsu center (Zen Shiatsu Chicago) and is recognized as a Certified Practitioner in Shiatsu by the AOBTA. Angela has taught Shiatsu at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Chicago campus, and currently teaches core curriculum classes and workshops at Zen Shiatsu Chicago. In addition to being a Shiatsu practitioner and instructor Angela is an enthusiastic Pilates Instructor. She began her study of Pilates while pursuing a Bachelors in Dance at Northwestern University. Initially she used it to rehabilitate a dance injury but found it helpful in managing structural scoliosis. In 2006 she became certified to teach Pilates through the Physical Mind Institute in NY.
