Matthew is the primary instructor and director of the HeartMind Bodywork Training. He teaches all levels of HeartMind Shiatsu Theory, Practice and Clinical Supervision. He began training in 1985, and founded Ohashiatsu® Chicago in 1988, where he taught and practiced with the Ohashi Institute curriculum through 2003. In addition to Ohashiatsu®, Matthew has studied with many Qi masters and shaman over the years, including Li Junfeng, Roger Jahnke, Jeffrey Yuen, Paul Pitchford, Sun Bear, Charla Hermann, Lynne Dusenberry Crow and Brandt Secunde. Since moving to Northern California in 2000, he has developed the HeartMind Shiatsu curriculum, blending Ohashiatsu, Zen Shiatsu, Qigong, Classical Chinese Medicine and Shamanic Wisdom. Matthew is the author of Pathways of Qi, Touching Ki, HeartMind Meridian Qigong, Elemental Meditations and the HeartMind Shiatsu Meridian Chart. He is the proud father of two awesome young men.
Dave is a graduate of Boulder College of Massage and has had a strong interest in health, yoga and nutrition since his teenage years. He’s taught shiatsu for Healing Spirits Massage Training Program, is the cofounder of HeartMind Bodywork and is the owner of Bodywork Bistro. He enjoys practicing yoga, qigong and meditation and brings the fruits of these practices into his bodywork style. He is equally skilled on a massage chair, table or mat. His mat based bodywork integrates the best of Thai Yoga Massage and shiatsu and his table work is fluid, deep, continuous and integrative. Read more →
